Well it is a little early. But prices won't really come down until we stop driving these large suv's.Some people just blame everyone else instead of doing there own part to change things. We do not need all these suv's!!!

Well, this guy says not many people paticipate, and so it does not work.It seems he can only base his numbers on low "turnout".But these days it would be nice for Americans to come together about ANYTHING.No other country on this planet drives large vehicals like we do.We can place alot of the blame for high gas prices on us.We have turned into spoiled brats.

They don't participate because a 1 day gas "boycott" won't do anything, period. You just end up filling up with gas on another day. You have to either stop using gas altogether or perform a boycott of a particular chain or chains of gas stations to see results, and neither of those are terribly likely to happen.

I don't see how not participating in this "boycott" means that Americans won't come together on something.

Symbolic? Not really. It's symbolic of a group of people that lacks the foresight to realize that it's a meaningless boycott. If you want the nation to "come together" on something, make it actually have an effect. Don't use ill-conceived logic to claim that it will have an effect when in reality it has none.

(I'm not directing this at you, ftlaudbob, I'm directing it at the people who thought up such an event.)
